GNASHER'S WINTER
Published 3rd April, 2019
Well, it hasn't been too bad a winter for young Gnasher this year. Not too much of that nasty white stuff under the old paws. His whole world (and that of his feline family) has been turned upside down recently though, because of what's happening to the Middleton Cabins and the coal yard next door.
Gnasher was actually born in the coal yard - in fact that was where he normally slept. But the coal yard has now closed, and the buildings torn down. So not only has Gnasher lost his favourite kipping spot but his friend Skye (the coal yard dog) has also moved. She hasn't gone too far, though as she now lives at the nearby yacht club.
The Cabins will also be taken away by the end of this month. Gnasher and friends have a little glimmer of hope, though. There's an unconfirmed possibility that a small number could be relocated nearby. This would give the community (human and cat) a chance to keep going. We can only hope.
