Looks like Hartlepool Water's experienced a bit of a problem in processing January's Direct Debits. It appears that many customers have been affected, with payments being requested on Monday 13th January rather than the anticipated January 2nd. In fairness, they've written to those concerned (as well as carrying out an investigation into what went wrong) but how much has this exercise cost the company?
