It’s a Jolly Holiday With Mary
The Akers-Belchers along with their obedient lapdog, Paul Beck have been on their travels again - this time to the City of Belfast.
If anyone asks, it was an official visit ‘to see the City Hall and the High Sheriff of Belfast’ though the hapless Paul Beck doesn’t appear to have received the memo and has been wantonly describing it as ‘ a short holiday’ to anyone willing to listen.
It’s always intriguing when pictures are posted on Facebook accounts only to be removed almost immediately afterwards but we can see from some of those deleted that the attraction of the Belfast visit seems to have been the chance to dress up again. It’s hard to think of another reason for a Belfast visit unless Belfast City Hall is undergoing renovation and was perhaps seeking advice on the choice of carpets.
Nevertheless, it was a chance to take in some of the sights of Belfast and wider Ulster. Perhaps a visit to the studios producing Game of Thrones and I can personally recommend a trip up the coast road through Carrickfergus to the Giants Causeway.
We know the Akers-Belchers have a taste for musicals and the opportunity to see The Lady Boys of Bangkok must have been tempting as would the chance to enjoy a concert from Little Mix.
Quite what all this has cost the Hartlepool taxpayer we are unlikely to ever find out.
